About This Course

 By reviewing the history of film editing, this course will make students understand the origin and development of editing techniques, as well as the basic knowledge of editing. Meanwhile, based on the fundamental theories of film editing, the course will thoroughly analyze the methods and techniques in the practice of editing, so as to expand the scope of editing in the film production and to explore the continuous innovation of editing concepts.

Requirements

We hope with the following lessons, students can understand the function and significance of editing, witness the charm and magic of editing, and behold the direct power of editing to the filmmakers in expressing the outlook on life, world and humanities.

Course Staff

Zheng Yue, professor and master tutor of Communication University of China, currently serves as Deputy Dean of the Undergraduate School and Director of the Directing Department of the School of Drama, Film and Television.

Xu ZhiPeng, associate professor of Directing Department, Communication University of China, Master's supervisor of film studies

Huang TianLe, Ph.D., Drama and Film Studies, Communication University of China, external teacher of Drama and Film School, former film planner of China Film Group.

Sun YIFan, received his bachelor's degree in directing from Communication University of China and his master's degree in film production from York University. He is currently a lecturer at the New Media Department of Beijing Institute of Technology and an external teacher at the School of Drama, Film and Television, Communication University of China.
